Lara emerges. The chamber is full of water and her air is running out. The switch will not operate underwater. She swims on and down, another lever drains the water and she can breathe again. She throws the switch and the door opens. |
On top of a column Lara stands on the edge to avoid the darts criss-crossing the room. |
Lara wanders around for a while wondering how to open the various doors, then she notices the movable block in the wall and the 4 squares on the floor. Sure enough placing the block on each square opens one or more doors - behind them gorillas and rats charge. |
Eventually she finds the 2 keys she needs to open the doors to the chute. The chute is a one way journey. Lara thinks that it may be worthwhile slidng down parts of the side instead. |
At the bottom of the chute a strange island sits in a lake. Lara approaches carefully. |
She surfaces and climbs out onto the island. This is the Tomb of Tihocan, 2 guardians on horseback guard its secrets. Lara approaches the door of the tomb. |
The statues come to life. They charge toward her then rear up. Lara draws her Magnums and starts firing... |
...they shoot fireballs back and she quickly loses health. It is difficult to match their firepower. It takes many shots and a few medi-packs to overcome them. |
Inside the tomb Pierre is waiting. This time he will not run and Lara battles it out with him. She kills him and takes the second piece of the Scion. |
From the balcony she gets the gold key and opens the door to the crypt. |
The last resting place of Tihocan, Lara studies the painting on the wall, it tells a story from old. |
Of how Tihocan was 1 of 2 just rulers of Atlantis. Who tried to keep order even though the land was cursed. He died without child and his knowledge had no heritage. |
